Woodblock
10*11
With its combination of both delicacy and vulnerability, Asian paper is one of my favorite texture. Washi (Japanese paper) prevails in art classes that I took, but the paper I was once obsessed with is the one that my professor of Chinese traditional painting gave to me 10 years ago. I made a fan out of it, but I did not draw anything on the fan, feeling that any drawing would be unnecessary.
The woodblock is made of maple. This project took me approximately 10 hours to carve and 3 hours to print.
